Bible Text: Mark 9:9-13

“But I tell you, Elijah has come, and they have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him.” Mark 9:13 NIV

A business mogul who owned many companies died and his son took over the control of his businesses. On his first day in one of the companies, he addressed the staff passionately, reminding them of the goals and targets of the company. After the meeting, some of the staff commented that he is just like his father.
God sent John the Baptist, a prophet like Elijah to be the forerunner of Jesus’ ministry. His messages were powerful like those of Elijah. This made the Jews to mistake him for Elijah. He made a great mark for God through his repentance messages. John came and did God’s will and that is why he was likened to a faithful prophet of God, Elijah.
God created you for His purpose and expects you to fulfil it. You must be known for who you are created to be. Though people may take you for another person but the most important thing that God wants you to do is to live for Him. Do not be a man pleaser; seek to please God like Elijah and John. When you walk in the line of your calling, the effect of your ministry will be felt by all.

Insight: God’s view about you is what matters.

Prayer: Help me to be what You want me to be Lord.
